Hello Jared,
Is this a new design? AM17x is a pretty old part. We can still answer hardware questions about AM17x at this point, but TI will be unable to help if they run into any software questions. if this is a new design, we might point them towards a newer processor where TI would be able to offer support if they need it.
Once we finish the above discussion, I can send your thread to another team member to discuss third party partners.
Regards,
Nick
Hi Nick,
Correct, new design. Can you please send me an email with details on what I should recommend instead of the AM17 family?
-Jared
Hello Jared,
What are the design needs? TI has many different processors & microcontrollers, so we cannot suggest just one specific part without knowing more about the customer usecase.
I am sending your thread to a member of our marketing team to discuss.
Regards,
Nick
Hello Jared
A recommendation on what to use instead of AM17 will depend on customer price, performance, integration, power , packaging requirements
The CYP device you show seems to be an M0/M4 with a bunch of serial ports/no linux , so I would recommend you/your customer to evaluate MCU portfolio
The device also seems to have an integrated flash
so they can also look at the Cortex R portfolio
AM26x family has devices with option flash in package options etc.
