Any reset button in 8168 EVM board

I have below queries on 8168 EVM board.

1. Is there any reset button on EVM baord. There is only SW1( turn on/off switch).

2.  Is it mandatory to turn on/off board if user want to boot image via MINICOM? In minicom terminal, kernal image is not boot on EVM baord until  SW1 is turn on/off

Below is steps I am following.

    1.  host  # minicom -w

    2. Turn off (EVM baord)

   3. Turn on (EVM board)

   4. U-boot messages are display

  " U-Boot 2010.06 (Jun 01 2011 - 15:00:16)

    DRAM:  2 GiB
    Using default environment

Hit any key to stop autoboot:  0
  mmc1 is available
  reading u-boot.bin .........................

 .............................................................."

3.  Sometimes after successfully booting image, I am not able to type anything on target prompt( TI8168_EVM#). There is no option from matrix UI to restart.

  • Hi,

I have 816x EVM with DDR2 support, there is a reset button(SW6) near your USB port.
Board should be ON to boot image(u-boot, kernel etc), SW1 is the main power supply switch.
You should able to enter commands once u-boot is up(TI8168_EVM#).

    Thanks!!

    Regards
