TMDXIDK5718: Board does not boot/start

Part Number: TMDXIDK5718

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

I hope you are doing good. One of our customers is complaining regarding P/N:TMDXIDK5718. The problem is that the board simply does not boot/start when they connect it to 5V power supply. They have followed the steps in the attachment and the board does not start as desired. Nothing happens:

Normally the LEDs light up as soon as the board starts, but this is not the case for the customer. On the measurement points you can see that the PMIC is supplied with power, but it does not start the processor.

Can you please advise any troubleshooting for the customer before we proceed with refund request to TI? Thank you.

Best Regards,

Usman Niazi

  • Does pressing the Pwr Button (SW3) do anything?  Can you used voltmeter (or similar) to measure the voltage at a few locations?

TP1: This will measure input voltage after the input fuse (F1).  Alternately you can measure the point just on the Fuse F1 (side away from power connector).

J46 pin 3:  This will measure the main 3.3v power regulator on the EVM.  Will give some indication if PMIC is operating.
