When was TMS320C6713 released?

I can't be sure of the specific date, but just as a reference, if you look at the revision history of the 6713 Data Sheet http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320c6713.pdf, it shows an initial release date of December 2001. Note that the original 6713 itself is Obsolete, while the 6713B is a newer revision.  The initial revision for the B datasheet is October, 2005.

I assume that for the 2nd part, you are asking about the TMS320C645x.  I believe that the 6455 is the oldest, and it's data sheet's original date is May, 2005.  

The 6713 is not the latest in the family of floating point processors.  

We have a family of devices called the C674x family.  These processors support both Fixed and Floating point.

Most of this family consists of Multicore flavors, but there is a single core version, the 6671.

Before I push you into our newest devices, I'd like to learn more about your concerns of the age of the 6713.  If silicon availability is your concern, keep in mind that  we still sell the TMS320C10.  In an apples to apples comparison of data sheet revision dates, the first C10 data sheet was published in 1987.

Also, I'd like to point out that the 674x devices are backwards object code compatible with the C67x devices.  Additionally, the C66x devices are backward object code compatible with the C67x and the C674x.  So, you could potentially go with the 6713 now and then migrate to one of the newer devices later, and then potentially to a newer device at some time after that.
