CCSTUDIO: remote desktop can't connect XDS110

I'm a bit confused about the customer environment. You mention "remote desktop" but what you describe sounds more like the customer is using a virtual machine running on his local machine and is having issue getting the XDS110 detected on the virtual machine. Is this correct? If so, what vendor is the virtual machine (VMware?) and guest OS?

Hi Ki

Guset OS. It is a server, every have it own workspace. Customer can connect server on local computer.  Another information is, it works well when use JLink.

So maybe there are some bug in XDS110 driver. We have struck there for a long time. Hope you can help us solve this issue. Thanks!

Ok, just to confirm - the server machine also has CCS 12.7.0. But due to company policy, customer cannot plug XDS110 to the server machine. So customer must plug XDS110 to local PC and then try to have server PC use the XDS110 plugged to his local machine? They have some software for that? If that is the case, this is an unsupported environment. What is the software used? I have never tried such an environment.

Yes, your understand is right. They have some software can re-direct local device to server. Now when plug xds110 on local PC, it can recognized by the server. But it failed on open xds110, show in former picture. It work well when use JLink. So I think there are some bugs in xds110 driver. What will cause this issue? How to location problem?

Thank you for clarifying. Unfortunately I have no experience with this kind of environment. This is not something we officially support so we will not be able to provide much support for it. What is the name of the software being used?

Cloud you have a investigate and survey on JLink remote server? I think xds110 lack of this tool which is need by most customer.

Can you provide the exact name of the tools used? I have never head of such a tool or requests from any other customer.

I was actually asking about the software the customer is currently trying to use with the XDS110.

CCS does support LAN based debug probes like: https://www.blackhawk-dsp.com/products/jtag-emulators/xds560v2

But we do not have an LAN based XDS110. It is something we are considering.

Many customers have successfully used CCS inside a virtual machine environment. It is a common environment within TI also.

Thank you for the additional details. We don't have a solution for the issue mentioned in the thread you referenced. It is simply not an environment we officially support. The same workarounds mentioned would apply now unless Citrix has improved their support.

Are you using F280013x launch Pad? Which mode do you select(JTAG/cJTAG)?And how to connect the wire? If use cJTAG 2PIN, can only connect TMS and TCK?
