SK-AM62A-LP: 3 terminal Cap footprint mismatch

Part Number: SK-AM62A-LP

Tool/software:

Hi,

There are 1uF 3 terminal caps used in the AM62A EVK design.

Part#: NFM15HC105D0G3D

Pads for this cap is smaller than the recommended pads

Pad size in design: 12mil (0.304 x 0.304mm)

Recommended pad size: 0.45-0.75mm

Even component width is bigger than pad size.

Is there any reason to have pad size smaller than component width/recommended size?

  • Hello Chirag Dudhatra

    Thank you for the query.

I checked on a number of family of devices and looks like we are using the same footprint.

Let me internally check if there is some background.

Are you looking to update the footprint.

You could update the footprint after checking with the component manufacturer.

As i understand we do not seem to have any issues with the board assembly.

    Regards,

    Sreenivasa
