Cross Compiling Linux Services for ARM

I've been trying to cross compile the ssh service.  I've come across many issues.  The ssh service seems to need both zlib and openssl.  Does TI have any good documentation on cross compiling services?  Is there a better way to install services on the ARM Linux side?  Once I build the service images, I still need install it.
