now I understand astyle and its each bits what for. I would like to understand the other field.

The allowed_qos [0-1] represents that the X, bit[2-3] represents X, and bit[4-5] represents X, bit[6-7] represents X

The allowed_orderid bit[0-1] represents that X, bit[2-3] represents X, and bit[4-5] represents X and bit[6-7] represents X

bit[8-9]represents X, and bit[10-11] represents that X, bit[12-13] represents X bit[14-15] represents X

is it related to the CBUS QOS?

3. allowed_priority bit[0-1] represents that X, bit[2-3] represents X, and bit[4-5] represents X and bit[6-7] represents X

4. allowed_sched_priority bit[0-1] represents that X, bit[2-3] represents X, and bit[4-5] represents X and bit[6-7] represents X

Is dmss channel related to this, which dmss channel do they represent?

can you complete X in above fomular or point me the right document.

I want to know each every 2 bit what are they for, as in astyle.

Hi Jun,

I have check the details internally and found that these parameters (i.e. allowed_atype/qos/orderid/priority/sched_priority) are no longer used by firmware. We have them defined in our documentation and RM boardcfg files in order to maintain backwards compatibility, but they are no longer used in our firmware code.

You do not need to worry about these parameters as this has no impact on the running system firmware.

You mentioned backwards compatibility. Would you provide me the RBL version? up to which RBL version that you are still using these parameters anymore?

Hi Jun,

I have checked this details internally. This parameters for host configuration were added in 2018 but never utilized. And the functionality was descoped in 2020 after a code review decided that they would not be needed.

So, these parameters have been defined since 2018, but have never been utilized in firmware and since the RM boardcfg structure must maintain backwards compatibility, these parameter declarations have stayed there ever since.

If the TISCI v 10.00.08 online document does not get updated to reflect deprecated resource management parameters, we should at least mention this to the individual device Academy writers so a note/errata could be inserted in there, cc: (+) Bin Liu's Profile - Bin Liu - TI E2E support forums

Jim, we'll follow up with the TISCI team separately. Better to update the TISCI documentation itself than to put a band-aid in a totally different document, and hope customers will find it later.
