1) The AM387x EMIF interface seems limited to 400MHz for DDR2 and also for DDR3 (DDR3-800).
Is that right (DDR3), even for the 1GHz parts?
2) Suppose using two DDR3, 16bit wide, memory devices for the AM387x. Wich one is the best option?
a) Connect both to EMIF0, to get a full 32 bit bus.
b) Connect one to EMIF0 and the other one to EMIF1 (both at 16 bits).
From a layout perspective, it looks like it's easier to use both EMIFs to get the timing requirements (only point to point connections).
3) Where can I get information about the AM387x EMACs?
4) I was looking at the AM3894 power estimator, and setting the case temperature to 45 Celcius degrees, we have approximately 2 watts for the Baseline Power (leakage, I think). I read somewhere the AM3874 has a total power near 2 watts. Is that right, are they so different? Is the AM3899x 40nm geometry so much leakier than de AM387x 45nm?
