AM62A7: Boot from Norflash failed through xSPI interface

Hi Patra,

can you tell me what the mean is devstat = 0xff73? I think this is strange. and field team help customer add the Nor flash support in AM62A, but now it failed when boot to linux.

Are there any changes in the U-boot source code or the default images are used?

         The  boot mode is  xSPI,   the  MCU R5 core  can boot successfully from the Nor flash in our custom board,  but  the  Linux  u-boot  starts  failed as the log show above.

          i  aslo  have try to use the default  prebuilt u-boot .img  get from  the  path:  $(PSDK_LINUX_PATH)/board-support/prebuilt-images  in Processor SDK   ,  but it is no valid and generate the same error message.

As the U-boot for AM62A has support for NAND flash part, so the default images or the images built from default source code will no work for the custom board with NOR flash.

Please refer to the AM62x source code to port the NOR flash related changes, to the U-boot code.

customer need change below two files refer to AM62x at least, I think.

am62ax_evm_a53_defconfig. The corresponding config file for AM62x: am62x_evm_a53_defconfig; 

arch/arm/dts/k3-am62a7-sk.dts. The corresponding DTS file: k3-am625-sk.dts

can you confirm is there any more files need to be changed?

Looks like A53 SPL is not fully setup for SPI NOR operation, like some missing driver settings.

Doing a quick compare of configs/am62x_evm_a53_defconfig vs. configs/am62ax_evm_a53_defconfig, can you make sure you have the following CONFIGs in your defconfig?
