PROCESSOR-SDK-J721S2: Unable to partition the emmc device

Hi Team,

I am unable to find mksdboot.sh in PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-J721S2 Software development kit (SDK) | TI.com for partitioning eMMC device. Other than that, I am following the procedure provided in following link : 3.1.1.5. SD, eMMC and USB — Processor SDK Linux for J721s2 Documentation . for eMMC partitioning. While doing that I am facing an error called Unknown Partition table type 0 as in attached image.

I searched for mksdboot.sh in <PATH_TO_INSTALLER>/bin/mksdboot.sh as specified in 4.1.8. How to flash eMMC device — Processor SDK Linux for J721s2 Documentation but I didn't find the respective script file.

HI Dharanija,

This seems to be the documentation bug from 9.x onwards we are using create-sdcard.sh script to partition the sd card you can use the same script to do the emmc partition.

As per your words, I tried to partition the eMMC using create-sdcard.sh. But after running the script , I am getting an error message as shown in attached figure.

I download the mksdboot.sh from the older sdk you can use that.

Thanks for quick response. After running the command: dfu 0 mmc 0 for file transfer from sd card to eMMC . It was keep on running till I stop it after 2hrs, and I am not sure what was running in background as it don't have verbose and the point it got stopped at a point is shown in attached figure.

Hi Dharanija

The above steps are for flashing the emmc using dfu interface on the HOST side you will get the dfu device after running the dfu 0 mmc 0.

Please go through the https://www.ti.com/lit/an/spracy5/spracy5.pdf?ts=1724906165880 document to understand the different techniques of flashing the device.
