AM69: Display Hot-plug Regression on Latest SDK 10.00.07.06

Part Number: AM69
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SK-TDA4VM,

Tool/software:

Hello TI Experts,

I observed that on AM69 SK board with the latest SDK 10.00.07.06 pre-built images, display hot-plug functionality is not working. As far as I know, this seems to be a regression from older releases.

GUI does not start when AM69 SK board is booted without display and display connected (over DP port) later after boot finishes. Black screen with command console is seen over DP when this issue happens.

Manually re-starting Weston works and able to see GUI.

Is this issue known ? What would be the fix for this ?

Full kernel log for the tests is attached below.

Thank you.

Parth P

  • The same regression from SDK 10 is present also on our custom HW.

  • Hi fd,

I'm not sure which SDK had Weston automatically start up on hotplug of the DP port, but I did not see it in the previous 9.2 SDK.

In any case, this is something that you can create a udev rule for.

I made the following udev rule on 9.2 SDK for SK-TDA4VM and this seems to work:

    https://e2e.ti.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/791/10_2D00_weston.rules

The same should work on 10.0 SDK and SK-AM69 as well.
