J784S4XEVM: UDMA Error Processing

Part Number: J784S4XEVM

Tool/software:

Hi,

In Section 10.1.3.20.2.2 on the SPRUJ52D TRM (Protocol Errors), in the second paragraph “Packet Error bit in the Descriptor …” and “Protocol Specific bits in the Host or Monolithic descriptor…” are mentioned.

However in §10.1.2.2.1 (HPD description), Table 10-3, there is no Packet error bit.

I can only find an Error Flags field and a Protocol Specific Flags field within HPD word 1.
It is mentioned that these fields “can be assigned based on the packet type” but I can’t find any detail about this “assignment”.

I can’t determine how the bits of these fields are assigned. Is it done automatically by the hardware (I think so) or should it be done by the application ?

I'd be grateful if you could provide any further information or point me to where it is explained further in any documentation.

Kind regards,
Scott
