OMAP3503 to AM3730 Migration

We encountered problem with the migration from OMAP3503 to AM3703. We assembled the AM3703 to the PCB board previously assembled with OMAP3503. Of course, we made the corresponding changes of some of the capacitor and resistor values according to the TI document. However, when we test it, the CPU board can not boot with the same xloader and eboot, even with BSP_EVM2_3730 flag enabled. As per the document, the same software should work on both system, at least for booting, they are same. We tried many ways of debugging, but no luck.

Could you help to get the issue resolved?

Please provide application notes or other documents that can help us expedite this migration.

We are using BSP 6.15.0.0. Do we need the newer version?

Yes, we were following the migration guide. OMAP35x To AM37x Hardware Migration

We don't have the JTAG environment setup, so we can not get the trace vectors yet. But, from UART, we saw the initial print out from ROM code and we checked they are consistent and correct.

Hello DerekG,

Can you read the trace vectors so that we can see how far you are getting in the boot process? Can you tell me what the serial output is...does it display an error, or does it just not do anything?

Have you changed the memory on the board from what was on your OMAP35 board? If so, have you confirmed that you have properly setup the LPDDR?

Issue resolved.

Customer was able to boot up the AM3703. They had not actually enabled the BSP_EVM2_3730 flag within the image build. After correcting this, the system booted.
