AM5746: OTP Image used as MLO?

Hello.

I am currently trying to boot an AM5746. From all what I understand so far is, that I would need to write proper keys in the first place, for which the OTP Tool is used.

This generates two (bootable?) images. One for checking if the correct key will be burned, and one that actually burns the key.

And here would be my question. According to the documentation, the SoC searches for a file which is named "MLO". According to older notes of a colleague, the *.bin.img file generated by the OTP tool, will be just renamed to "MLO" and put on the SD-Card in order to start the keywriter program? Is this correct? I can't find any base for this claim.

Would you please confirm if you are using PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM57X or PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-AM57X?

Hello.

Currently, I am using neither, as the OTP tool is, as far as I understand, a stand-alone tool. In the documentation it is referred as "OTP Key Provisioning Tool". I really can't link it to you, as it is only available in the security area after applying for it. There you can find it under the filename "otpwriter 2.3 linux x64 installer"

The document for this is named "AM57xx_OTP_Keying_Tool_v2.3.pdf", but is also provided with the tool. So I am not quite sure, how I can provide

My assumption is you do already since you have access to the collaterals.

This is the first time I heard of something like this. I am not aware of how to access it, so I am not really sure about it. I guess I will check with our local contact about that.

Update: Currently in talks with TI to get access for this

No worries! In order to get access you just need a TI.com account. Do you have one? (Slightly different than an E2E account, annoying I know )

You should also have already gone through this link: www.ti.com/.../AM57X-RESTRICTED-SW

Have you? That link is the request link for access to the collaterals that ensures you have clicked thru the NDA in place for the collateral. Then we can give you access to the Security Forum. I will cross check this on my side.

Yes, this is correct.

This boot file along with following the vpp procedure delineated in the Datasheet will successfully burn keys to device.
