TDA4VM: TDA4Vx: UFS3.1 device support

Part Number: TDA4VM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM69A, TDA4VH,

Tool/software:

Hi All -

Looking forward. UFS2.1 and UFS2.2 flash are going to be EOL within the next few years.

The AM69A/TDA4VH EVK includes optional support for UFS3.1 flash.  This is to support testing of UFS3.1 flashes in the future (I believe).

This is mainly different based on the core voltage of the UFS device itself.

The UFS2.1 flash uses VCCQ2, which is nominally 1.8V, while the UFS3.1 flash uses VCCQ on entirely different balls.

From the TDA4VH EVM Schematic:

Question for you:

- Has TI attempted to use UFS3.1 flash on any TDA4x devices?  If so, does it work, even though TDA4x UFS interfaces only support UFS2.1?
