DM8168 USB current requirement

Hi,

Can somebody help me in knowing what is the current requirement on 0.9V (VDD_USB_0P9) for a single USB PHY of DM8168? And is there any power sequencing required for this? I did not find this information from the DM816x power estimation spreadsheet. For one of our DM8168 designs, we will be using only USB0 of DM8168 . If the current requirement is less, and an accurate 0.9V supply not required, can 0.9V be generated from 1.8V supply using a resistor divider circuit. The answer will help us in designing our board.

    Hello,

    As mentioned in the power spreadsheet wiki page, the estimated current draw for 0.9V is very small (just a few mA) compared to the other power supplies. Hence, it was not included as a separate item.

    The power sequence is: 3.3 V -> 1-V AVS -> 1-V Constant -> 1.8 V -> 1.5 V -> 0.9 V as shown in the datasheet.

     An accurate 0.9V supply is required - please refer to the EVM schematics as a reference for implementation.

    Hi Marc,

    Thank you for the response. Just a quick clarification, to generate an accurate 0.9V reference for Netra USB PHY can I use a Zener based regulator circuit to do so instead of an LDO?
