Do you have any recommendations for what the OPP setting should be for encoding/decoding 2k x 2k resolution h264 on the DM8148? Maybe you would have some benchmarks suggesting encoding/decoding on the DM8148 vs OPP value?

John

hello john,
what do you mean to OPP setting ? if it is bout optimum codec setting then safely you can work with default encoding presets.

Deepak,
I apologize. My question was poorly worded. Let me explain in much more detail. The DM8148 has several operating performance points. The OPP can be set to the following values:
50%, 100%, 120%, and 166%
This setting affects the maximum frequency for the ARM core, the dsp core and the hdvicp2. Lower settings save power and the application requires power savings wherever necessary. So what would the minimum OPP value be to provide enough performance to do an H.264 encode/decode at 2k X 2k resolution. Do you have any benchmarking data that would suggest what operating frequencies are required to support this?
Sorry for the confusion,
John
H.264 Encode - 440 MHz of HDVICP2 for 2kx2k @30fps
H.264 Decoder - it depends upon stream porperites but consumer class streams of 2Kx2K@30fps can be decoded at 420 MHz of HDVICP2
Thanks,
With Regards,
