TI816evm PSP patch issue

I'm using TI816evm board and I followed this link http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI-Android-GingerBread-2.3-DevKit-2.0_DeveloperGuide#To_build_syslink.2C_kernel_modules_and_sgx for instructions how to start. When I downloaded all sources (linux kernel, u-boot, toolchain...) I have successfully made all components needed for making android alive on board.

My question is regarding PSP version of above mentioned source I downloaded? Is it PSP 04.00.00.12 or some earlier version? If my version is earlier, how can I patch (upgrade) my sources with new PSP, when it comes out?

Just to know, I have downloaded PSP 04.00.00.12, in case my PSP isn't up to date and as I can see, there is a new PSP 04.00.00.13 in making, but there isn't a source to download jet only release notes.

Hi Srdjan,

1. The release do you took for reference has earlier version of PSP, not the PSP 04.00.00.12

2. However, PSP 04.00.00.12 has been integrated with relevant IPC & VPSS module for ti816evm. you can use mainfest file : rowboat-gingerbread-ti81xx.xml to get the same.

3. Also you can refer to release http://code.google.com/p/rowboat/wiki/TI81xxWithMultimediaAcceleration, if you are looking for MM components integrated with it.

thank you for advices they did the job. I downloaded PSP 04.00.00.12 and it looks ok to me, but I have one more question regarding which toolchain should I use for building system? User guide is referring to (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DM816X_C6A816X_AM389X_VPSS_Video_Driver_User_Guide_PSP_04.00.00.12) "arm-none-linux-gnueabi-", until now I was using toolchain "arm-eabi-4.4.0" ("arm-eabi-4.4.3"), is it same as previous one or I have use that referred one in document?

I have installed the CodeSourcery toolchain just in case...

Hi,

To build android follow below link ( for android you need to use prebuilt toolchain comes with android source)
