Dear TI,

We are checking the possibilities for the Ethernet Boot Mode (SBL bootloader option) on TDA4VH / J784S4 EVM and corresponding SDK version 10.

According to the TRM, Chapter 4.6.6 Ethernet Bootloader Operation, it seems as possible that ROM code communicates with the servers and loads all images.

Checking the SDK documentation, we found that this is not supported in SDK for the SPL/uboot on J784S4 platform.

Is Ethernet BootMode supported for the SBL on J784S4 platform? If yes, is there some SDK documentation regarding this one?

Hello Milena,

The Ethernet Boot Mode with the SBL bootloader is not supported in the TDA4VH / J784S4 PSDK RTOS 10.0, and there is no software roadmap to support this boot mode for SBL.

Hello Praveen,

Just to clarify, what options are possible (supported in the TDA4VH/ J784S4 PSDK Linux+RTOS)to boot via Ethernet Boot Mode?

Currently, we see that it is possible to boot rootfs (NFS). Are there any other options available?
