Hi TI Experts,

My team is building robotics applications, and a few queries where your suggestions would be valuable

Can you please help with the IEC-61508 functional safety timeline for the AM62P processor product line?
Also will this certification be applicable for AM62P34xxxx processor?
On the AM62P, can we install ROS2 with EtherCAT master on Debian Trixie?

There is no support for ROS on AM62Px. So, that would not be possible.

Thanks Nihar, a couple of follow-up questions:

1) it was possible to install ROS2 + EtherCAT on AM64x with Debian Trixie & Bookworm when we built it from source code(ROS2 Humble). I would like to understand the limitation with Trixie and AM62P, Can you please help with answer?

2) Do you see any issue running the above application with a docker?

Hi Srujan,

The Processor SDK is not validated with ROS2 integrated, but my understanding is that ROS2 doesn't really have hardware dependency, so you should be able to run ROS2 on AM62Px if you could get ROS2 enabled in ARM Debian.

Docker is supported in AM62x Processor SDK, you should be able to test out any Docker image on AM62Px.
