J722SXH01EVM: TISP example compatible with being loaded by linux

We are evaluating the TISP library that shipped with ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j722s-evm-10_00_00_05. Following the instructions included within the SDK I can build the examples executables. The documentation says to program the EVM in OSPI NAND Boot Mode in order to run the tests. Is there an alternative way to load and run TISP executables? Ideally we are looking for a source code example that results in a firwmare loadable by the linux remoteproc subsystem. Thank you.

Hi Delio,

Currently, it's not in the scope of the library's support to load the C7x firmware outside of the way that is described in the TISP documentation. The executables are baremetal C7x examples. We have validated the library using the method documented, let me know if you have further questions on this point or are facing difficulties with this.

Understood. Two questions:

1. Is there anything in current TISP design that would prevent us from integrating it in an RTOS application from j722s which can be loaded by the linux remoteproc subsystem?

2. We intend to extend TISP with our own processing node which will be using MMALIB. Again my question is if there would be anything preventing us from achieving this TISP + custom node + MMALIB integration.

In theory, I don’t anticipate roadblocks in what you are trying to achieve based on what you’ve described, but you will of course have to make the necessary modifications.

Hi, since my last comment I made some progress with integrating TISP with an exisiting linux IPC example. I encountered an issue with DMA seemingly not starting and I posted about it here: infinite loop in DmaUtilsAutoInc3d_wait().
