AM5716: [PURSS] : Can Pruss extended network port be used as a switch？

Hi TI Team,

We have extended 2 Ethernet ports using PRUSS. Can the software program these 2 ports as switches? That is to say, we want to achieve transparent transmission between the two network ports of Pruss without going through the AM5716 processor

Hi,

ICSS-EMAC in switch kind of configuration is not supported.

Update to my previous response, this is possible from RTOS side : https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-rtos/esd/AM57X/09_02_00_00/exports/docs/rtos/index_pru_icss_fw.html#switch

On linux side, this is for sure not available right now. I am rechecking the feasibility for this in the future timeline.
