AM5716: how to use AM571x board to work with SMATIC S7 1500 PLC?

Hello experts,

I am a beginner with AM571x board. When I try to connect the board with PLC, I came across some questions.

1. I am not familiar with how the I/O are assigned. Like when I am working with PLC, it needs to fill the slots such as Modular module, Input module, Output module. I can't find any docs explaining it.

PS:is there any docs about how AM571x works with PLC?

2.Can you provide an IRT example project or where can I find one in TI website?

Hello Xin,

We do not have a direct example with the PLC you are using but there is an existing reference design as well as an Industrial protocol software guide.

Thanks for your reply Josue.The current project I am using is called profinet_slave_IRT_AM571x_arm which i downloaded from TI website.I'd like to know how to configure slots/subslots in this project. I didn't see any ways in guides.

Hi xin,

The document packaged in PRU ICSS Profinet Slave is out dated now. SIMATIC website has lot of document and videos explaining the same.

You need to import the GSDML provided with PRU ICSS profinet package in TIA portal and connect to PLC as mentioned in above tutorials.
