  • Hi Nithin,

How is the rootfs generated? is it built from Yocto, or the prebuilt rootfs image from the SDK10.0 package?

Can you please try the rootfs "tisdk-edgeai-image-am62axx-evm.rootfs.tar.xz" in the SDK without adding your application to see if the login issue still happens?

  • Hi Bin,

We are using the 8.6 SDK tiny image (tisdk-tiny-image-am62axx-evm.tar.xz) as the base, and we're adding our required files to create our custom tinyfs.

Reasons for using the 8.6 SDK tiny image:

    1. The size of tisdk-tiny-image-am62axx-evm.tar.xz is only 8MB.
    2. We are using init.d as the init process.

We followed the same method during the SDK 9.2 porting, where we added all the required dependency libraries according to SDK 9.2, and it worked fine.

However, in SDK 10.0, even though we followed the same steps, we're encountering a "login incorrect" issue. We have copied the relevant libraries such as libpam.so, libpammisc.so, and libc.so, but the login issue persists.

The problem with using tisdk-edgeai-image-am62axx-evm.rootfs.tar.xz (SDK 10.0 tiny image) is that its size is 116MB, and we don't have enough memory to accommodate that.

    We need a solution:

    1. We need a reduced tinyfs, with a size below 15MB, or help identifying the missing dependency libraries that are causing the login issue.
    2. Is there an option to generate a reduced tinyfs image with init.d in SDK 10?

    Let us know your suggestions.

  • Hi Nithin,

The reason that the tiny rootfs image in AM62Ax SDK1.0 is bigger is because 1) it uses systemd, and 2) it includes kernel Image and dtb files.

If you want a small tiny rootfs with SysVInit in SDK10, you might want to download AM62x SDK10.0 package, its provides tisdk-tiny-initramfs-am62xx-evm.rootfs.cpio which is about 18MB.
