Tool/software:

Hi , as per Serdes environment it is having internal PCIE clock and require external PCIE Clock OSC . We are using SERDES0_4L PCIE1 for SSD communication. Can you please tell me which clock for PCIE I need to connect external or internal?

Hi Pranjali,

If you are designing a board, using an external clock generator would make the software much simpler. Using internal clock would be a bit trickier to configure software-wise, but it is doable.

You may reference the PCIe interface in the schematic files for J784S4 EVM: https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/sprr458

PCIe0 is connected to external clock generator in the EVM, while PCIe1 is connected to internal PCIe Serdes clock. You may choose between using internal or external clock for all PCIe interfaces.

I tried clicking the link on my end just now but find that I can download the zip file. Perhaps there is some company firewall blocking downloads of zip file?
