Error installing MCSDK in Windows XP

Durig the install of MCSDK 2 in windows XP I am getting:

I then imported the image processing demo into CCS5 and CCS complains about not knowing where UIA is:

xdc.PACKAGE_NOT_FOUND: can't locate the package 'ti.uia.runtime' along the path: 'C:/ti/ipc_1_23_01_26/packages;C:/ti/ndk_2_20_04_26/packages;C:/ti/bios_6_32_04_49/packages;C:/ti/mcsdk_2_00_03_15;C:/ti/imglib_c66x_3_0_1_0/packages;C:/ti/pdk_C6678_1_0_0_15/packages;/packages;C:/ti/mcsdk_2_00_03_15/demos;C:/ti/mcsdk_2_00_03_15/demos/image_processing/ipc/evmc6678l/master/.config/;C:\ti\xdctools_3_22_01_21\packages;'. Ensure that the package path is set correctly. image_processing_evmc6678l_master.cfg /image_processing_evmc6678l_master Configuration Validation XDCTools Configuration Marker

There are also a couple of warnings:

Invalid project path: Include path not found (\packages). image_processing_evmc6678l_master  pathentry Path Entry Problem
Invalid project path: Include path not found (\packages). image_processing_evmc6678l_slave  pathentry Path Entry Problem

  • Lee,

You are seeing this error because, while installing MCSDK components, MCSA (DVT + UIA) is not installed correctly. Please close the CCS, re-run the BIOS MCSDK installer, in the CCS v5 install directory form, fill in the directory where CCS v5 is installed (it defaults to C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv5 in the installer). In the component selection window, please un-check all of the components except MCSA, then run the installer. The installer should not crash as before. After the install, you should also see UIA component installer in CCSv5 directory, and the demo should build fine.

I did as you said, unchecked evrything, but MCSA, but the installer still crashed.  I installed CCS5.0.3 before atempting to install MCSDK, should have I reversed the sequence?

  • It should not crash. I have seen similar crash if I do not provide correct directory where CCS v5 is installed or the directory have some permission issues. You don't have to revert back the sequence. Where you have CCS installed?

Both CCS5.0.3 and MCSDK are being put at c:\ti

I uninstalled CCS5.0.3, reran the MCSDK installer and it still crashed:

  • The installer needs CCS v5 to be installed. Please re-install CCS v5.0.3. If you choose to install CCS v5 in c:\ti, then you should see ccsv5 directory in c:\ti. Then re-run the installer. The installation location window of the installer should look like the picture below (note c:/ti/ccsv5 entry). The installer should install fine.
