TDA4VH-Q1: eDP configuration

Part Number: TDA4VH-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi as per TDA4VH-Q1 datasheet it is supporting eDP/DP display system. But in pin mapping SERDES4 is only showing pins for DP system. So if I want to use eDP port then which pins I need to select. Also please tell me what is the difference between eDP and DP.

  • Pranjali,

The same pins that support DP support eDP as well. They are interchangeable. Both support display interfacing with embedded display port (eDP) usually for internal SoC communications in space-constricted areas with a small form factor. In contrast, the DP is for connecting external display interfaces with monitors / LCD screens etc with larger cable and connectors involved.

Both support the 8.1 Gbps max HBR3 data rates.

Not sure if there are any other differences.
