TDA4VM: Benchmarking YOLOv8m Model on TDA4VM

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if you have any documentation containing benchmark results for the YOLOv8m model on TDA4VM (TOPS, FPS), something like in document on following link . Additionally, I am curious if it is possible to run the YOLOv8m model using TI tools so that the model can be executed on the board? Currently, I cannot find a configuration for this version within the edgeai-benchmark tool.

Hi Mileva; thanks for the questions, we will look into the benchmark documentation of the models, to see if we can find the benchmark for the YOLO8m model.

For running the model on the board, which board are you using, or plan to use?

We are working on deploying yolov8m to the TDA4VM. We are using Processor SDK J721 9.2.

The board is a j721e EVM from TI.

Hello Mileva

We cannot provide artifacts or model files themselves due to licensing restrictions. We are waiting on some work outside TI for an implementation with more permissive license to be finished. For this reason, yolov8 is not part of the SDK.

But we do have additional info about this.

There is some documentation (in an odd place) here: https://github.com/TexasInstruments/edgeai-tensorlab/issues/7This is more relevant for training the models in the first place. The upstream version requires some changes to run with all layers accelerated on C7xMMA
