Hello,

I have several questions about OMAPL138.

Can anybody help me.

- State clearly the steps how to access the FIFO of USB in OMAPL138 EVM to read/write raw data in bytes

- Is it possible to use the LogicPD BSL in RTOS DSPBIOS/SyaBIOS to access USART ? How?

BIOS interacts with very little hardware so there shouldn't be much effort involved in integrating the LogicPD BSL. Primarily you just want to make sure that you don't conflict with the Timer being used by BIOS (look under CLK manager to configure). I'd also recommend registering any ISRs under BIOS rather than just leaving them "bare metal". Here's a wiki page on that topic:

Hello friend,

W are still not clear about USB programming using logicPD BSL in SysBIOS. The driver program has functions namely USB_init(), USB_getHostRevision,USB_OTG_init. No specific functions given to read/write raw data from the USB either device byte-by-byte or word-by-word. After going through OMAPL138 data sheet (SPRS586B.PDF) we came to know from table 6.92 that read/write can be done using FIFO0,1,2, 3, and 4 that corresponds to some endpoints.

Can you please explain us little more about these endpoints and how can read/write data using them. We dont want to go in-debth into this subject because our concern is to process the data coming from USB device. We are struck up in data logging itself.

FYI, there's brand new low-level code written by TI called Starterware. You can download it here:

Hello Brad,

My project is in the middle sysBIOS with LogicPd BSL.

Can I now mix up with starterware on ARM9 side only to add some USB and ethernet codes and keeping the rest unchanged?

If, yes, please give clear steps. How to include those starterware examples in to my already existing sysBIOS project.

Starterware has no OS bindings so you can use it with sysbios or any other OS (even no OS at all).

It is expected that you take these independent pieces and integrate them into whatever system you need. Walking you through every step is beyond the scope of forum support. You might look into hiring a contractor.
