Hi ,

We are facing a critical issue which bit rate is oscillating from 600Kbps to 7000Kbps with the same field of view.

Randomly codec algorithm is not working, even though if we create huge motion on the scene, the bit rate is not shoots up and keeps on retaining with 600~1000kbps. After sometime, the same camera bit rate shows an average value of 4500kbps.

Codec lib: 02.00.00.09

Codec algorithm: VBR

initQ = 28;

rcQMin = 25;

rcQMaxI = 35;

target bit rate: 6000

frame rate: 30fps

key frame interval: 16

The version you are using is old. Please use the latest encoder version 2.30.00.01 available at

http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/codecs/DM36x/index_FDS.html

after change to the latest encoder 2.3.00.01, my CVBS and streaming show hiccup issue when motion is introduced into the field of view, do you have any idea?

There is more information from my side.

1. I change the h264 codec lib to 2.3.0.1 but hiccup issue observed.

2. DVSDK: 2.18

3. Framework version: framework_components_2_24_01

4. Linux utiles version: linuxutils_2_24_03

5. DM365 platform

But I see 2.3 release notes mentioned below validation environment.

Framework components Version 2.25.02.06

XDAIS Version 6.25.02.11

LINUXUTILS Version 2.25.04.10

XDC tools Version 3.15.01.59

Codec Engine 2.24

BIOS Version 5.32.00.02

LSP Release Version 02.10.00.005

MVL tool chain Version 5.0

Then I download the required framework and LINUXTILS, but the DVSDK compile has so many errors (ex: linuxutils_2_25_04_10/packages/ti/sdo/linuxutils/edma/src/module/edmak.c:378: warning: implicit declaration of function dma_alloc_channel), then I check my kernel(2.6.18), there is no dma_alloc_channel function. It exist in 2.32 kernel.

My questions:

1. Whether 2.3 codec encoder can work fine with framework_components_2_24_01 and linuxutils_2_24_03?

2. If not, do I have to use Framework components Version 2.25.02.06 and LINUXUTILS Version 2.25.04.10? if yes, how can I do? Whether the two module must work with 2.32 kernel?

Hi,

Sorry for missing this reply, I suggest you move to the latest DVSDK 4.01. This should have newer FC version integrated, You can then put the new codec in that.

- 2.3 codec cannot work in 2.24 FC, you need to move to 2.25 or above.
