AIC111 & TMS320C54xx Digital Hearing Aid Application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AIC111, TMS320UC5402

Hi there,

I'm looking for some clarification as to whether the TMS320C5402 can be powered at 1.3V using a zinc-air battery.

The AIC111 datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/aic111.pdf) shows this as being the case in figure 11 on page 23.

The "Information for Medical Applications" document (http://focus.ti.com/pdfs/vf/medeq/informationformedicalapplications.pdf) describes using the AIC111 & TMS320C54 in a zinc-air application as well on pages 28-30.

The one that really got my attention was "Low-Power Real-Time Programmable DSP Development Platform for Digital Hearing Aids" (http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spra657/spra657.pdf); where the 0.18um technology is spec'd at 0.9V/30-40MIPS/0.18mA/MHz in table 3 on page 18.

However, the lowest power variant I could find (TMS320UC5402) doesn't have any specs as low as 1V; is it possible to run at this low voltage?

Any additional information would be great.

Thanks,

Matt.
