DM368 boot problem

Hello, Dear guys!

Recently I am working on DM368 development board, but I meet some problems when I boot the board.

After power on the broad which configured with SD boot mode. the serial port output information is as following:

DM36x initialization passed!

TI UBL Version: 1.50

Booting Catalog Boot Loader

BootMode = SD/MMC

Starting SDMMC Copy...

when I configure it in nand boot mode , the serial port output information is still the same.

any guys who know  what the problem is ?

much thanks in advance, any suggestions would be much appreciated !

  • Hi Gordon,

when I configure it in nand boot mode , the serial port output information is still the same.

    What does it mean?

Did you set switch SW4 appropriately for NAND mode? following is the switch setting.

Pos 3    Pos 2     Pos 1     HW                  Code Boot Mode
ON          ON       ON          000                  NAND Boot *

even after doing this, if uboot doesnt comes up you need to erase and flash ubl and uboot to it.

    Regards,

  • Hi Prabhakar Lad,

I configure switching SW4 as NAND mode correctly, but the serial port output information is still the same as before,

so how to flash ubl and uboot to it?

I have done it just as the user guide saied ,but unfortunately, it can't work

    Best Regards,

  • Gordon,

UBL must be rebuilt for the boot option you require. You have a ubl that is built for MMC boot.

The source code for ubl is at:

    /ti-dvsdk_dm368-evm_4_02_00_06/psp/flash-utils

The CCS project to rebuild in the different configuration is at:

    /ti-dvsdk_dm368-evm_4_02_00_06/psp/flash-utils/DM36x/CCS/UBL

or makefile and precompiled nand/nor versions at:

    /ti-dvsdk_dm368-evm_4_02_00_06/psp/flash-utils/DM36x/GNU/ubl/build

and the source file to start to understand what you are seeing is:

    /ti-dvsdk_dm368-evm_4_02_00_06/psp/flash-utils/Common/ubl/src/ubl.c

  • Hello Gordon,

Did you pass the issue with boot from SD card ?

Could you tell me where the problem was?

We have exactly the same issue with our board we are trying bring up.

It seems  that UBL is correct beacause it works correctly in the demo board.

I have no idea what is going on.

    Rgds,

    Mariusz
