AM62P-Q1: AM62P: Can frame freeze detection be supported on Linux OS based on SDK 10.0?

Part Number: AM62P-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM62P

Tool/software:

Hello TI ,

The frame freeze detection can't be supported on Linux OS for SDK 9.x

We had a discussion on this topic before.

AM62A7-Q1: How to enable frame freeze detection in DSS. - Processors forum - Processors - TI E2E support forums

At current ,  we have a new project uses AM62P as SoC, and the SDK version is 10.0.

I want to know whether there is fix for update frame freeze?

Can frame freeze detection be supported on Linux OS based on SDK 10.0?

Best regards

Chunfu

  • Hi,

Nothing prevents customers from porting frame freeze to Linux OS. We don't support the feature out of box because open source frameworks do not support frame freeze feature. For example, the DRM framework which is tighlty coupled with DSS, does not have hooks for supporting frame freeze. If we write a custom code, there will not be any path for open source and the code would need to be migrated every release. Hence, we made the decision to not support the feature in Linux.
