CCSTUDIO: how to make Standalone CCS Project (v20) and how to use low level c and register structure variables

Part Number: CCSTUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE, C2000WARE

Tool/software:

Dear TI

[First Question]

I developed a project using general hardware C language and register structure variables in CCS 11 or lower.

Can I develop a project using the same hardware C language and register structure variables in CCS 20?

I have a lot of projects from CCS 11 or lower, so I want to know if the software is compatible or supported for use in CCS 20.

[Second question]

I created an independent CCS project by copying source, header, and cmd files to the project folder using ControlSuite in CCS 11 or lower.

I modified and used the source or cmd provided by ControlSuite.

Can I create an independent CCS project by copying source, header, and cmd files using C2000ware in CCS 20?

or do C2000ware and CCS 20 only support driver libraries?

Very important issue, i study about ccs20 and c2000ware and then transfer hardware c style coding sources to driver library style sources.

Best regards, Choi

  • Hi Choi,

Thank you for your patience as we have been out of office on holiday

Yes, you should be able to use the same projects from CCS 11 in v20. In fact you can test this yourself by exporting the project from CCS 11 and then importing the project into the new CCS v20. But keep in mind that the projects will be in different workspaces

Yes, you should still be able to import the project using the same way you were doing this with CCS 11 since the source files should be very similar. Be sure that the files are included in the compiler imports to ensure they are being compiled into your project
