AM625: Ethernet issue : RTL8211F-CG is connected but the ethernet port is not connecting to the Beagleplay Board(AM6254)

I am not sure i understand the query, please elaborate.

I see you used the MCU_OBSCLK0 as the clock input to the EPHY.

MCU Domain Observation clock output for test and debug purposes only

We do not recommend using this clock for clocking EPHY.

I also see that yo connected to the X0. I would expect the external clock to be connected to the Xi.

Please verify.

Can you please share a searchable PDF of the schematics.

We do not recommend using OBSCLK as clock output.

Would you be able to connect the WKUP_CLKOUT0 which provides a default 25M output and do a quick check.

I will be sharing you some screenshots for the connections for the MCU_OBSClK0.

I was able to get the USB over ethernet but not able to get on the RJ45 port.

Hello Mohit, 

The RJ45 side of the EPHY is the MDI and the functioning depends on the EPHY configuration.

The only other input that could be affected is the clock input.

As i said before the OBSCLK is not recommended  for use with attached device.

If you believe the clock is not a concern, you might have to review the EPHY implementation.

An alternate suggestion could be to enable to crystal circuit on the board and do a check.

I was thinking if the EHPY was getting detected over usb then their will not be the issue with the MCU_OBSCLK0.

But I will sure make the changes on the board and remove the connection resistor of MCU_OBS0 and turing on the crystal of 25MHz.

In the next revision please use WKUP_CLKOUT0 or CLKOUT0 to source the clock to the EPHY.

Hello Sreenivasa,

I have soldered the crystal and its decoupling capacitors with R71 and de-soldering the R70,R67. but after this there is no response from the ethernet end.

The difference between the beagleplay board and my own board in the ethernet side is the RJ45 jack itself. Please let me know if the RB1-125B8G1A(RJ45 jack) is supported according to the schematic or not.

if there is any other debugging process please let me know.

Thanks you. Did you confirm that the oscillator is working?

Could you check if the MDIO interface works. 

Did you reach out to the beagle team.

We may not have suggestion for the MDI side issues related to the EPHY.

You might want to reach out to the EPHY silicon provider.
