SK-AM62: Devkit availability and Beagleplay Bluetooth issues.

Part Number: SK-AM62

Tool/software:

First, Is this dev kit available? Does the Bluetooth module on this devkit work? If it does, can you provide a tutorial on how to use it?

Second, I work with a team designing a product that will use the AM6254 microprocessor. We were going to buy the SK-AM62 dev kit for firmware/software development, but it was not available. Because of this we bought the Beagleplay board instead. I have tried everything I can to get the Bluetooth to work to no avail.

One of the things I did was to use the bluetoothctl utility in Linux and the "power on" command. It just gives the error: No default controller. Do you have any solution to this too?

  • Hi Mubarak,

The SK-AM62 devkit is an early development version and is obsolete now. The current devkit for AM6254 is SK-AM62B-P1: https://www.ti.com/tool/SK-AM62B-P1. This devkit doesn't have a BT module on the board, but it has a M.2 slot, which can work with any module in M.2 form factor. One example is the CC33XX module: https://www.ti.com/tool/M2-CC3351. If you have any questions about enabling this module with SK-AM62B-P1, the CC33xx product line can help.

The Beagleplay board is an open source community board, we don't have much of experience with it.
