TMS320VC5502: CCS 12.8 throws java.lang.nullpointer exception

Tool/software:

I updated my CCS v12.6 to v12.8 today.  Two items were updated -- a driver for the SEGGER debug probe and a flash driver for an AMD chip (I believe).  I am using neither of these items.

I had been very stable but after the update (and PC reboot), I get regular java null pointer errors or CCS hangs.

Is this a known issue?  Should I try to roll back to v12.6?

    Hi Dean, 

    I am going to pass this along to the CCS team for further comment. 

    I would definitely try and roll back to v12.6 if you can. You can also just install v12.6, or any other version, simultaneously to test out new device/feature support.

    Can you provide any error logs? The log in <WORKSPACE FOLDER>/.log would be helpful to see.

    Sorry for the delay ... it looks like the .bak_0.log or .log didn't get past the acceptable file filters and I didn't notice that initially.

    Thank you for the log. Unfortunately there was not much useful information for engineering regarding this issue.

     Since CCS 12.x is deprecated in support, I would suggest rolling back to CCS 12.6 also if that worked well for you.
