I use McBSP on OMAP-L138 for the serial reading data from ADC ADS1278.
I plan to use McBSP as in "Standard Operation" mode as described in section 26.2.7 of the document SPRUH77 page1177.
1. (R/X)PHASE is set = '0' - single PHASE operation.
2. (R/X)WDLEN1 = 0x4 = 24 bits
3. (R/XFRLEN1 = 0x7 = 8 words in phase1. Another option is 4 words in phase 1.
4. I understand how to set SPGR and PCR.
5. But I still need to set MCR register to XMCME = 0 - 2-partition mode. I don't really need two partitions for 8-channels.
6. It looks like 2-partition mode (and 8-partition also) is only applicable when (X/R)MCM bit is not equal 0. Is this correct? This is not absolutely clear from the data sheet.
7. It looks like I can use the default setting = (0x0) for all multi-channels registers - MCR,RCERE[0:3], XCERE[0:3] since I use only one PHASE 8-channels TDM mode (Standard Operation). Is this correct?
