Tool/software:

Assisting with board bring-up on DRA821U-Q1 design.

We are using MT53E2G32D4DE-046 AAT:C for DRAM

We have heard that the DRA829 development board uses the same DDR4 DRAM

Will "k3-j721e-ddr-evm-lp4-4266.dtsi" provided for DRA821 reference design need to be updated, or is there a version of "k3-j721e-ddr-evm-lp4-4266.dtsi" file that can be provided from DRA829 reference design files that will work on DRA821.

We are just attempting the initial boot, not an optimized operation.

We know of the resources on these links but are short on time.

DRA821 does not support 4266 MT/s. Max data rate supported by DRA821 is 3200 MT/s. Thus, you certainly cannot use k3-j721e-ddr-evm-lp4-4266.dtsi with DRA821.

Note that DRA821 has its own DTSI file in u-boot repositories. https://git.ti.com/cgit/ti-u-boot/ti-u-boot/tree/arch/arm/dts/k3-j7200-ddr-evm-lp4-2666.dtsi?h=10.01.10

However the existing version in u-boot is from an older tool version and is set for 2666 MT/s.

The register configuration tool (xls version) you referenced has built in macros that can be called from the TITLE worksheet, which will populate inputs for the selected EVM.

Alternatively, we recently moved the tool to sysconfig. If you click the link below (which is specific for DRA821), the inputs will already be filled in for the DRA821 EVM.
