The TDA4VH User Manual in 4.3.5 OSPI Boot Device Configuration cites the boot mode supports 1S-1S-8S mode.

Questions:

1. Is the flash ID required to complete the boot process.

2. Is the flash ID required to complete the configuration setup of the TDA4VH OSPI and the OSPI Flash device.

Hi Ken,

For OSPI as a boot mode, the RoM code expects the flash to be in 1S-1S-8S mode. It does not need a flash ID for the first boot part.

For next stage bootloaders though, there might some fix-ups applied based on the flash ID.

The Flash ID is read for OSPI boot. This is used for tuning the RX delay.

Hi Ken,

The Flash ID is read in OSPI boot, but it used in a generic way for flashes. No part/manufacturer specific actions are taken for the flashes in OSPI boot.
