C6672 power-down sequencing

p106

Is the power-down sequence the exact reverse of the power-up sequence? Meaning I reverse Fig7-5? Or does it refer to the voltage rails only CVDD, CVDD1, DVDD15, DVDD18?

From 7.3.2, it seems to imply that just transition the PORz to low will do? So the voltage can be off at the same time?

Yes. This is almost an exact quote out of the datasheet, phrased as a question.

Yes, in terms of resets and power rails. You apply PORz while all power is good and clocks are still running. Then you can start taking away the power rails in the reverse order.

Is this more helpful or clear, or have I still missed your question?

  • I was thinking if one of the power went down, eg. 1.5V, I would assert the PORz and take away the power at the same time instead of following the sequence. If one of the power goes down trigger a power down sequence, isn't that not an exact reverse of the power-up sequence?

  • For TI to assure the reliability of the device, you must follow the sequences as described in the datasheet.

Any deviation from the datasheet directions may result in undesirable results. TI cannot quantify those undesirable results. We can only quantify the positive results you will achieve if you follow the guidance of the datasheet.
