UART1 in TMS320C6424 EVM

Hi,

I have a basic doubt regarding the C6424 EVM board. I am doing some uart programming and I wanted to know whether I can send and receive data from UART1. I can see only one serial port on the board. Is there any jumper configuration that allows me to use this port as I/O for UART1. Currently I am using this port for UART0 I/O.

Thanks and Regards,

Nimesh

  • Nimesh,

It appears that the EVM implements a single UART connector with a switch to select between UART0 and the Timer signals that may be shared with UART1. If the drivers default to using UART0, then this is the easiest port to use.

There is nothing more that can be done on that board, unless you use the shared pins with the Timer and UART1 to be switched to the DB9 connector. It appears that a resistor network may need to be changed on the board to change how the DB9 connector is driven.

Do you have the board schematics? These would be available either from the CD supplied with the board or from the board vendor's website.

    Regards,
    RandyP
