AD Converter recommendation

Introduction and description of the project at the University of Applied Sciences Hochschule Regensburg =======================================================================================================

Like used in the field of studying the bat fauna (bat detectors), we want to process a supersonic signal (about 80 kHz) for echolocation uses. For digital signal-processing we are already using the DSP C5505 respectively the eZDSP USB- Stick and want to stay on that plattform. We decided to use that plattform because of the ability to do many kinds of signal processing with the supersonic echo signal. Drawbacks and problems / Question on the hardware =================================================

In consideration of the fact that the TI teaching materials seem to be aimed basically for sound processing which has a maximum of about 20 kHz signals, we want to ask if the C5505, particularly the analog-to-digital-converter is able to guarantee a proper signal processing of a 80 kHz Signal. If not, could you recommend an external ADC which is fitting best for our requirements? In addition we want to save the sampled ADC-Data and the processed data for some seconds and output them via the GPIOs of the system. Can you recommend a medium which fit best for such a high data stream compared with standard audio signals. Would be a SD-Card adequate for that? Question on undersampling algorithm

===================================

We want to make the supersonic signal audible for humans. To archive that we want intenional violate Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem and undersample the signal. Do you think if it is possible just with special adjustments of the AD-Converter? Question on the digital-to-analogue-converter =============================================

In order to make the processed signal audible we need a digital-to-analogue conversion of the undersampled signal. Could you recommend any for our need appropriate ADC or would the integrated audio-codec fit to that task?

Thank you very much in adavance
