AM6442: Four Ethernet Interfaces with GPMC

Part Number: AM6442
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Tool/software:

I'm working with a customer who is trying to determine if it is possible to have four Ethernet Interfaces with GPMC without running into pinmux restrictions. Here are the use case details:

  • 2x Ethernet interfaces using the PRU-ICSSG in a switch configuration. May be 10/100 mode or 10/100/1000 mode.
  • 2x Ethernet interfaces in independent MAC 10/100 mode
  • 1x PRU-ICSSG reserved for custom serial protocol implemented by the customer. Not available for Ethernet interfaces.
  • GPMC, 8-bit mode okay, but with a reasonable number of address bits, say 10. AD muxed mode okay.

I believe this is not possible without pinmux conflicts. Using the SysConfig tool, we find an conflict starting at GPMC address line 3 which cannot be resolved.

Please confirm that this use case is not possible without pinmux conflicts.

Thanks,

Stuart
