J784S4XEVM: Eth1 not working with factory SDK 10.01

We're booting our J784s4 EVM with SDK 10.01 but can't get eth1 to work. The LEDs are off and even if we try to turn the port on it just doesn't work.

Do you have anything else we should try in order to fix this problem ? We tested on 4 different EVMs and they all behaved the same (no eth1). Thanks.

Hi,

Can you share the linux boot logs you have.

Can you also confirm that you have made no changes in the device-tree files of the board?

This is the boot logs when we flash the default image. In this log, we made no changes to the SDK whatsoever, it's just the file we downloaded from your website.

I've just tried disabling ethernet firmware build from the vision apps build and it fixes the problem.

Since removing the Ethernet firmware affects VPAC performances, is there another way to enable eth1 without having to disable the Ethernet firmware?

From this log, we could see eth0, eth1 CPSW2G instances drivers are loaded.

ETHFW is for CPSW9G not CPSW2G.

eth1 you mean is from CPSW9G or CPSW2G?
By default eth0 is MCU CPSW2G, eth1 is Main CPSW2G.
eth2, eth3 are virtual interfaces for CPSW9G (switch port and MAC only ports).

How come disabling ETHFW affecting VPAC performance, disabling ETHFW from MCU2_0 will have more bandwidth for vision application to run as no ETHFW load on MCU2_0 core.

Even if the driver is loaded, the Ethernet port does not work (both LEDs are off) unless we disable the Ethernet firmware. Have you tried booting the default SDK 10.01 firmware on a J784s4 EVM?

Yes, this does not have issue. But just to be sure, you mean the default vision apps firmware right.
