SK-AM62A-LP: Booting a freshly flashed SD card fails with Authentication failed

Please try a SanDisk card.

I believe this is a sandisk card, and it used to work with 10.0 before. I'll see if I can find a different card to check with.

It's not a sandisk sd card, but a lexar 300x. I'm flashing 10.0.5 again to see if that's still working. I have a sandisk 32 GB card incoming, once that is there I can proceed.

So 10.0.8 works with this sd card. I'm not sure what changed between 10.0.8 and 10.1.8 to make the sd card stop working.

Just tried with a sandisk 16G card, and that gives me the same error.

So it doesn't seem to be the SD card, but something in the image itself.

That's the exact same SD card I tried. In the e2e post you linked the error message is not being able to read from the SD card (which I can understand if the timing is off). In my case the system controller is not acknowledging a message from SPL.

I think the SD card isn't the problem here, but something else is failing.

Yes, the error message you got was different. I agree that this doesn't look like an issue with the SD card.

Are you running this on TI's AM62A SK EVM or your custom board? Which device type are you using - https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/AM62AX/10_01_00/exports/docs/linux/Foundational_Components_Migration_Guide.html#device-types?

I'm running this on TI's AM62A SK EVM, HSFS without fusing anything. The same board runs with 10.0, which is why it surprised me that the 10.1 release didn't work.

This error message is most likely caused by wrong device types. SDK 10.1 has been used both inside and outside TI and it's been working well.

I know this can be frustrating, but can you follow the instructions given in the above link I shared earlier and see what device type you have?

The documentation shows the AM64, is the SR1.0 and SR2.0 accurate? If so, it looks like I have a pre-release version of the AM62A.

That might explain why 10.1 doesn't want to boot.

What did you mean by "AM64" here? I don't see AM64 in the log you provided.

The log is for the AM62A, the log in the link you gave me shows the analyzed data is for an am64x CPU.

The page you sent me states that SR1.0 has ROM version  [ 0, 1, 0, 0 ], while my board has [ 0, 0, 8, 0 ]. I'm not sure if this ROM version is up to date enough for Processor SDK 10.1.0 to work.

With that said, I'm puzzled why SDK 10.1 doesn't boot on your board.
