DRA821U: GigE Vision

Hi,

I'm looking for solution to realize GigE vision with Ethernet Switch.
Since this has CPSW5G, I would like to consider to use DRA821U as Ethernet controller.
However, I'm not sure whether TI can support GigE vision by using TI SDK or not.
Is it possible to comment about this ?

    Hi,

    Do you have any reference for the hardware requirements for GigE vision. I was not able to find it. I can take a look at that and let you know of the possibility of it working on DRA821.

    If its only requires a 1G link and based on what I saw it uses a UDP based application, It should be possible on DRA821 as well. If there are hardware requirements specified anywhere, I can say with a much better clarity on weather it is feasible or not.

    we have several requirement other than GigE vision specific.
    Kind of this, one of concern I think is Jumbo packet.

    According to TRM section "12.2.2.1.2" of DRA821, it seems that Jumbo packet is NOT supported for 9600bytes.

    >Jumbo sized packets (9600 bytes)

    However, I'm not sure this devices does not support "Jumbo packet" itself.
    If there is any value which this device can support up to in datasheet, could you please show it to me ?
    (According to following URL, TI mentioned maximum size of TDA device which Jumbo packet can support.)

    Yes, usually Jumbo frames are 9600bytes.
    CPSW5G from DRA821 doesn't support Jumbo frames.

    The maximum packet size, CPSW H/W can support is 2024bytes.

    GigE vision s/w is not supported in TI SDK.

    You need to add own application and stack for GigE vision features.
