AM69A: Question about eDP

Hi Expert,

1. Has TI verified eDP?
2. Regarding the Backlight PWM control and enable signals, and power enable of eDP, has TI defined which pins are needed to implement these controls? If not, which pins did TI use for verification when implementing eDP?
3. In addition, is there any SW support, such as Driver or reference code, that can be provided to implement the eDP function?

AM69A board has DP connector and not eDP

You can find the design files in the above link
Please refer to page 42 of PROC154E3(001)_SCH.pdf in the package

However, SoC itself is capable of supporting eDP, since it has
eDP controller. You need to design custom board with eDP
pinouts

I want to confirm the following :

1.I know the EVM is designed with DP, not eDP. Since the SOC supports eDP, I want to confirm whether TI has verified the eDP function for AM69A SoC?

2. Are there any control signals required by eDP (such as Backlight PWM control and enable signals, and power enable, etc.)?

3.Does TI provide any driver or reference code for eDP? If not provided, can the DP Driver or reference code be directly applied to eDP, or does it need additional modification?

Hi Daniel,

1. TI has not designed any board with eDP using,
2. For control signals like PWM, power etc.. GPIOs and HW PWMs present on SOC can be used
3. Same CDNS mhdp driver supports eDP as well, no modifications required
