In the following description of the Edge AI Studio Model Composer, it does not mention anything about its own models, which concerns me.
Is it correct to understand that Model Composer can import and use its own models?

Model Composer is a fully integrated solution for collecting and annotating data, training and compiling models for deployment on a live development platform. Model Composer supports Bring-Your-Own-Data (BYOD), enabling the re-training of models from the TI Model Zoo with custom data to improve accuracy and performance. Model Composer is available as a cloud based application for vision based tasks and as both a cloud and desktop application for real-time control tasks.

Hi Kanae,

Model Composer retrains existing models from TI Model Zoo with the dataset you provide. Tasks supported include ARC Fault, Image Classification, Motor Fault, Object Detection and Semantic Segmentation. The process goes as follows: provide dataset, model selection, train model, compile trained model, live preview and deploy to device.

Hi Fabiana,

Thank you for your reply.
I understand that Model Composer can retrain existing TI Model Zoo models with the provided dataset,
but that importing a new custom model can be done by following the Import Custom Models section of the SDK below.
Is my understanding correct that importing new custom models can be done
by following the 4.3. Import Custom Models section of the SDK below?

Hi Kanae,

Yes, that is correct. Once you have finished your Model Composer project, download the compile model artifacts to the development board. Keep in mind that only SDK versions 9.0 and 9.1 are currently supported on Model Composer.
